#Exposition Imagine little particles called electrons. These contain a negative elementary charge. Now imagine water molecules. While water molecules do not carry a charge. Water systems can be used to model the same interaction as an electrical system.

Water System TermElectrical SystemNote
Water PressureVoltage (V)Pressure is a measure of how concentrated a force is over an area.
Voltage is the electrical potential (think height) of a positive charge.
Flow RateCurrent (Amperes,A)The amount of water/electrons moving per second.
Pipe DiameterWire gauge/ResistanceWider is easier flow; Narrow is more resistant.
AmountCharge (Coulombs)Total quantity of water / electron
TurbineLoad / ResistorUses the energy to do work or control flow by converting to heat
TankCapacitorOffers temporary storage
Water HammerVoltage spike/ InductanceSudden changes to flow causes surges
